It's Officially Snowboarding Season!

Resorts across the U.S. and Canada are opening as we speak. Colorado's Arapahoe Basin got the ball rolling nearly a month ago and Woodbury Ski Area in Connecticut was the first to kick things off in the East. Now Mammoth Mountain has joined in and Utah resorts like Brighton and Snowbird are scheduled to open this week. It's time to wax those snowboards and start making your travel plans. The snowboarding season is officially here!

There's more to choosing a snowboard than picking out an awesome graphic. While looks are definitely one determining factor, there are many other aspects of a board that can help you narrow it down even more. Each dimension of a snowboard is laid out by the manufacturer to help you make an educated decision between multiple boards. It's hard to determine a waist width or sidecut radius by just looking at a snowboard; however, if you have the two boards' specs list you can just look it up. Unfortunately for most people, reading a spec sheet in the back of a catalog or buyer's guide is sort of like trying to decipher the DaVinci Code. So just what do all of those numbers mean?
