The National Yo-Yo League divides the United States into distinct regions. Each region has an established major contest or Regional Contest that can seed the first place player in the 1A and 2A divisions into the National Contest.

For the National Yo-Yo Contest the regions are currently divided as follows:

Region 1: Northeast Region
Region 2: Mid-Atlantic Region
Region 3: Southeast Region
Region 4: Mid-East Region
Region 5: Mid-West Region
Region 6: South-Central Region
