Dr. Kevin Hopper
Associate Professor of Biology
Ph.D. University of Kentucky, 1998

Kevin Hopper claims to be a biologist, but in reality only dabbles in the shallow backwaters of that field. Some research articles published under his name in otherwise reputable journals are surely due entirely to the efforts of his co-authors. Currently, Dr. Hopper teaches (using the word loosely) biology at Bluegrass Community and Technical College. His listing in Who's Who Among America's Teachers is surely a typo and his recent promotion to coordinator of biological sciences is analogous to Jacques Clouseau's promotion to Chief Inspector.

Like Inspector Clousseau, Dr. Hopper's accomplishments belie his incompetence. In 2002, Lexington Community College gave him their "Outstanding Teaching Award". In 2004, the University of Kentucky gave him their "Great Teacher Award". In 2004, the Kentucky Academy of Science gave him their "Outstanding College/University Teacher Award". And in 2006, the International Conference on Teaching and Leadership gave him an "Excellence Award Medallion". In 2007, he won a "Free medium Coke" in a scratch-off game.

This fall, Dr. Hopper is "teaching" BIO 112 Basic Ideas of Biology.
